9 Cozy Bedroom Ideas
1. Wooden Accents

Whether your bedroom is small or large, adding wood to the walls will add warmth. A board cladding or limed oak paneling can be used, says Hamel. “When real wood isn’t available, brilliant wallpapers simulate wood cladding.” When you can’t add paneling or wallpaper, wood furnishings and accents can help create a cozy atmosphere.
2. Light up the mood

No ordinary light will do in a cozy bedroom. A harsh ceiling downlight shining on you while you sleep is the worst, says Hamel. After dark, turn off overhead lights and focus on low light. To create an intimate atmosphere, use soft bedside lamps and strategically placed ceiling lights. The best light source of all is, of course, natural light. See our dream bedroom below.
3.Select a Dramatic Bed

A four-poster bed provides the ultimate in coziness. If you don’t like curtains or frills, go for a simpler design with no cross beams or fabric. “Four-posters enclose and emphasize the bed in a larger bedroom, while also adding scale and drama to a smaller bedroom,” says Hamel. It should be large enough to dominate the room.
4. Blankets aplenty

No such thing as too many blankets…layer throws on your bed for visual interest (and the perfect nap location). Dress your bed in velvety linens, lots of pillows, and a luxurious duvet or blanket.
5. More Pillows

Nothing in this world is more inviting than a pillow-laden bed. This bed practically begs you to jump in. We recommend cozier pillows that are as cute as they are comfy. While you don’t have to justify the number of pillows on your bed, this way they’ll be functional.
6. Face Your Wallpaper

Fun wallpaper adds dimension and excitement to a dull space. Keep the rest of the space neutral and add wood and wicker accents to muffle any extra decorative noise.
7. Leather Accents

Play with leather accents to add warmth to your space. A leather bed frame gives a cushioned look. Match your side chairs to the frame.
8. Use Knits

We need something more inviting than knit blankets. Since we can’t, stock up on knit throws, pillows, and even a knit duvet for maximum comfort.
9. Leave the Bed Frame

Save money and keep your room cozy by sleeping on the floor instead of a bed frame. Fill the room with textures to create your dream bedroom.
