Decorate ideas for Easter that make your home special!
Easter is a beautiful time of year when we can spend an extra-long weekend with friends and family, soaking in the autumn sun, eating a hot-cross bun (or ten), and consuming an excessive amount of Easter eggs. Whether it’s a seafood lunch on Good Friday or a quiet brunch on Easter Sunday, entertaining is usually on the schedule.
SELECT A COLOR PALETTE
When it comes to decorating the table, stick to a color scheme rather than an Easter theme. A lovely and punchy tablescape is created by tonal variations of pink decorations mixed with metallic accents.
FRESH FLOWERS
Fresh flowers are always a good choice. Easter daisies are the most appropriate, but hydrangeas, flannel flowers, or paper daisies can suffice if you can’t find any.
USE UNIQUE PARTS
Bring out whatever you don’t usually have. Bring out a linen tablecloth if you don’t often use one. Use crystal instead of glassware, or use historic egg cups.
DECORATE THE DOORS AND WINDOWS
Easter is the ideal season for bunting and other garlands, which can effectively fill the typically empty ceiling to window space.
MAKE THE CENTREPIECE OF THE TABLE
As a centerpiece, use hand-blown dyed eggs for their natural beauty. This DIY Easter egg tree may easily be transformed into a unique table by combining foraged flowers and fruit tree branches.
COMBINE THE OBJECTIVES.
If you don’t have a lot of Easter decorations, instead of buying a bunch of stuff you’ll only use once, get creative with what you already have. A well-thought-out arrangement or attractively produced vignette may make a big difference.
MAKE USE OF MOOD LIGHTING
Candles, tea lights, lanterns, and fairy lights will quickly create a lovely atmosphere.
ALFRESCO ENTERTAINMENT
If the weather permits, take advantage of the Autumn sunshine and hold your gathering outside. The nicest part about entertaining outside is that you can keep the décor to a bare minimum and let the natural beauty of the surroundings do all the work. All you need is a good tablecloth and some fresh flowers.
And what would a party be without some festive decor? Let’s note some decorate ideas for Easter that make your home special!

Origami Egg Cups

Display your artistry (a.k.a. adorned eggs) in a bright cup at each place setting.
Step-by-step instructions are as follows:
- To make a rectangle, fold a 6″ square of origami paper in half. Fold the paper in half twice to form a square, then open it out again to form a rectangle.
- Fold the right edge to meet the crease in the center. Before closing both sides, repeat the process on the other side.
- To make a triangle, open up one side and compress the other. Rep on the opposite side.
- Fold both corners inwards to meet in the middle. The bottom right corner should be folded up to the center. To form an upside-down triangle, fold the bottom left corner up to the middle crease.
- Rep step 4 on the other side of the paper.
- The top triangle should be folded up to meet the top of the paper. Reverse the paper and do the same thing on the opposite side.
- To build the base, open out from the bottom and press down in the center to form the cup. Put your egg in the cup and show it off.
Accordion Paper Flowers

For a bright display, scatter these paper flowers around your dinner table or hang them on a blank wall.
After you’ve downloaded the templates, follow these steps:
- Using the first design, cut out four pieces of yellow or white paper (depending on the hue of daffodil you choose).
- Fold the paper in half vertically and horizontally, then open it back up. Fold the bottom up to 14 inches and wrinkle it.
- To make an accordion, flip the paper over and fold all the way to the top.
- Fold the accordion-folded paper in half and use double-sided tape to join the two middle sections.
- Steps 2-4 should be repeated with the remaining three pieces of paper.
- To make a flower form, use a strip of double stick tape to connect all four.
- Cut a 2″ x 1.5″ rectangle of orange paper and make small points on one of the long edges.
- Roll the rectangle into a tube shape and bind it together with a little piece of double-sided tape, folding the bottom edge down to make a flat bottom. Finish your daffodil by gluing the small cup you constructed into the center of the flower.
Easter Egg Candies

These ornaments have a dual purpose: After you’ve filled a plastic egg with treats and wrapped it like a bonbon, add a holiday-themed label to the outside (think: Easter bunny, carrot, and jelly bean). Then, similar to a game of charades, have party guests search your house for eggs and act out whatever is written on the outside of their egg.
Bunny Tail Place Setting

With these bunny-themed place cards, you can join in the Easter excitement. Make a cardstock circle for each visitor and write their name in large, black letters on it. To make charming bunny ears, glue on a pom-pom rabbit tail and criss-cross two imitation flowers.
Woven Vase

While these handcrafted vases were designed with spring in mind, they also perform great in the summer. To fit a glass hurricane vase, cut a length of cane webbing to fit around it. Stitch a line or criss cross design over the edges of the cane webbing with contrasting yarn or embroidery thread. Apply hot glue to the webbing and wrap it around the vase.
Pressed Flower Eggs

With this vintage-inspired design, you can bring the outside in. Begin with flowers, buds, and leaves that have previously been dried and pressed. Apply them to the egg’s surface with a flat paint brush and high-gloss Mod Podge. Tweezers are useful for positioning fragile items. On top of the flowers, apply thin coats of Mod Podge (it will dry clear). Allow to air dry thoroughly. Continue with more flowers.
Bunny Bowl

This unique bowl is made with air-dry clay, acrylic paint, and a Sharpie marker. Use it as a catch-all for jewelry or coins after the holidays are over.
